Our Carbon Offsetting Efforts

Giving back to the planet

To understand and offset our carbon footprint with regard to our printed assets, we’ve partnered with the environmental consultant SaveMoneyCutCarbon, as well as the marketing communication provider, Media Group, which allows us to support the World Land Trust conservation charity.

Our Partnership with SaveMoneyCutCarbon

To understand our total carbon emissions, gain a snapshot of our current carbon baseline and in turn, receive recommendations for green policy and staff engagement, we’ve partnered with the environmental consultant SaveMoneyCutCarbon. We’re also working with them to assess potential projects to reduce our energy and water carbon.

Our Partnership with Media Group

Media Group, one of the UK’s leading market communication providers, is ISO14001 certified. ISO 14001 is an internationally agreed standard that sets out the requirements for an environmental management system. It helps organisations improve their environmental performance through more efficient use of resources and reduction of waste, gaining a competitive advantage and the trust of stakeholders. By partnering with Media Group, we’re able to print brochures that are carbon balanced in both paper and production.

Our Support of World Land Trust

The emissions produced by our brochure production are currently offset by the international charity World Land Trust. World Land Trust offsets these emissions by protecting threatened habitats that would otherwise have been lost, avoiding the release of stored carbon. This also enables the regeneration of degraded habitats, which gradually re-absorb atmospheric CO2.

Newmarket Holidays is proud to have supported the World Land Trust since 2015. During this time, we’ve preserved over 62,000sq meters of critically threatened tropical forests throughout Africa, Asia, and Central and South America, and in the process captured over 1500 tonnes of CO2. Our continued contribution via carbon balancing has supported land acquisition, tree planting and assisted natural regeneration while reducing emissions from deforestation and degradation.

Our Brochure Production

The material used on our brochures is completely biodegradable. We try our best not to waste but any unused brochures are always 100% recycled.

Since 2019, Newmarket Holidays has also reduced the amount of paper used for brochure production by 45% since 2019 and aim to reduce this further over the next 12 months.
