Limassol, located on the sun-drenched southern coast of Cyprus, is home to a fascinating old town, a scenic fishing harbour, and views of the stunning Mediterranean Sea. In this sun-kissed city, you can spend your days strolling the historic Turkish Quarter surrounding the medieval castle, rebuilt in 1590 under Ottoman rule, and then continue onto the old town, where you can get marvellously lost exploring the narrow streets with its boutiques, cafes, and restaurants.

Limassol is also a fantastic place to stay if you need a relaxing, tranquil break, with traditional bath houses (hammams) ready to take you in for a steam bath, deep cleansing ritual, and other wellness-boosting treatments.

Of course, being in one of the sunniest places in Europe, you should take the time to visit one of Limassol’s stunning beaches, including Pissouri Bay, which boasts all the amenities you might need for a day at the beach, Kourion Beach, which seats beneath a fascinating archaeological site in Episkopi Bay, and Lady’s Mile Beach, which sits outside the city but is well worth the visit if you fancy relaxing on a three-mile stretch of sand.
